friday | a little miss madelyn decided she wanted to walk
(btw, please excuse my overly excited voice)
this moment was pure joy and i cannot tell you how it made me feel for vy and i to be able to witness these oh so adorable first steps. when we decided i would return to working full time, in the back of my mind, i was always thinking about the moments i could/am missing with madelyn and this was the number one moment i was afraid i would miss (a little bit of mother's guilt, i think we all experience this.) i don't know if it's because i used to be a pre-school teacher and i remember one day witnessing a little girl in my class taking her first steps, although we were so excited and showered her with lots of love it was the moment we told her mom at the end of the day, her expression was happy but sad. i remember telling myself i would never want that to happen to me. i know it was a possibilty it would happen without us around and we are blessed that my in-laws watch madelyn but i cannot tell you how full my heart is to know that we were there. watching her laughing and feeling so proud of herself as she walked back and forth between us is something i will remember and replay forever.
this made our ENTIRE weekend.
this made our ENTIRE weekend.
(although she has refused to walk since, i heard this happens so fingers crossed she will decide she wants to walk across the room like a big girl one day real soon...at least we know she can do it)
saturday | we started our day off with a workout, this is our usually routine. we take turns going, i went first to my barre3 class then vy went to la fitness when i returned home. it's usually reversed but since i had a baby shower to go i went first so i could get home to hang with madelyn for a bit and get ready.
i am so excited for my dear friend and mama to be, jessica. she is going to be amazing mama to her sweet little baby girl. plus, she is just beautiful and one of the cutest preggos i've ever seen.
jessica and i have been friends since our freshman year in college when we met through sorority recruitment. although we didn't join the same sorority, we became the closest of friends. we majored in the same field and had quite of few classes together. she is one of the most sweetest, honest, funniest people i know and i love her so much. to grow as friends and see where life takes us is such a fun journey and i cannot wait to meet her little lady and for us to have some mama and mini dates with our girls.
after the baby shower, we made plans to grab dinner with the yannuccis. we tried this new place (well new to us since we both had never been), union hill kitchen. it was a small little restaurant close to our neighborhood with the kindest people. the food was delicious that after we were all discussing what we would get next time. after dinner we went to get dessert (duh!) from the frosted caboose. it's a little train stand that serves homemade ice cream and is a landmark in the area. apparently, everyone else had the same idea because there was definitely a line too long for two little girls up way past their bedtime. once we made it to the window, ordered our scoops the girls definitely pepped up and enjoyed.
these two, oh how i love them.
madelyn and emerson were born only one day apart so we believe they are destine to be the best of friends.
sunday | this is our family day. we started the day off again with vy and i switching to get in a workout then off to run errands and home before a little miss m's nap time. before lunch we swung by the park to let madelyn play for a bit and i just love this new park we found.
this face. loves.
after lunch, we returned home for everyone to relax and snooze. both of our families came over to hang out for a few hours then we went out to dinner. just to make it home in time to catch big brother...is anyone else watching this season?!
hope you all had a wonderful weekend! xo
