FAMILY MATERNITY PICTURES

today is luke's due date.
so in honor of our little man, i thought i share our sweet maternity pictures. these beautiful pictures were taken by my dear friend and ah-mazing photographer, brooke of brooke whitney photography. thank you so much, we absolutely love these and so very thankful you were there to capture this special time for us.

TWO.

over the weekend, our sweet baby girl madelyn turned two. how??! [insert the ugly cry] 

we woke up saturday morning and sang happy birthday to our little birthday girl. all last week we kept talking about how it was going to be her birthday and teaching her how to say "happy birthday to me." so when she woke up she was all about it, all day we reminded her it was her birthday and when we would ask her "how old are you?!" she would put out a peace sign and say "I TWO!" The cutest thing ever! 

we celebrated with a party at gymbroee play & music with our closest family and friends. i was hesitate in the beginning to not have a birthday party for her at our house and the thought of not being able to decorate like a crazy lady was a little heart breaking but with our house being on the market and oh you know being 37 weeks preggo, it was a smart move from vy to book it. i didn't know how madelyn would like gymbroee since we had never been to one before but i felt like out of all the options out there it was the best fit for her little personality. we got the whole space to ourselves for an hour and half, there was a teacher to sing and play activities with the little ones and it was honestly a lot of fun. as soon as we got there madelyn was running around so excited to play with everything and loved singing along. it really couldn't have been any better and she loved every minute of it. 

it was a beautiful weekend filled with so much love.

LITTLE BABY PHAM #2 IS A ...

BOY!!

we started the new year with some very exciting news!

the morning of friday, january 2nd, vy, myself and madelyn had an appointment to see the babe and find out if m would be getting a baby sister or a baby brother. 

at our twelve week nuchal scan, the ultra sound tech said she was leaning her gender guess towards a girl. she said she didn't want to provide a confirmed guess as she really was not sure. at one point during the scan, we thought we saw a boy part but she could't get that angle again so she thought girl. vy and i were both sure we saw a little boy part but we were starting to discuss that we would be more than happy if it was a baby sister for madelyn. i have been feeling totally different with this pregnancy then i did with m which made me think it could be a boy but i feel like i'm carrying the same way i did with m which made me think it was another girl. 

up until the actual gender ultrasound vy and i talked about what it would be like to have two girls. i thought how much fun it would be for m to have a sister, a life long best friend. not to mention how fun it would be dress them and to decorate another girly baby room. we picked a name and i started to imagine how cute our two girls would be together. 

welp...maybe the third will be a girl because to our surprise we're having a BOY!

we are totally over the moon excited!! the nursery planning is going crazy in my head so stay tuned...

happy new years eve!!

on my what a year, it's hard to be believe another year is gone and to be honest it's all been kind of a blur. it's been so fun looking back through pictures (thank goodness for instagram), seeing how much madelyn has grown over the past year and dreaming of what the new year will bring.

i get so excited to think about what new year will being but i know for sure we'll be welcoming our second love bug and miss madelyn is going to be such a sweet big sister.
